One of the reasons you can count on the performance of a Schmidt & Bender riflescope under the most brutal conditions is the extensive testing our optics undergo before they are ever approved for sale. For example, at right you see certification of underwater testing of our 5-25 x 56 PM II. It spent 10 hours in sea water at a depth of 25 meters (82 feet), revealing absolutely no leakage. The MIL-STD-810 G Method 512 is a test to demanding military standards, requiring that a scope resist substantial pressures and the corrosive effects of saltwater for a specified period of time. Few scopes can pass this test. Which is why Schmidt & Bender are among the few scopes approved for use by the U.S. military. Even if you never find yourself underwater with your Schmidt & Bender, you can be assured that rain, snow, atmospheric pressure and exterior moisture will have no adverse effects whatsoever. We go to great lengths—and depths—to thoroughly test our scopes before you put one on your rifle. If they meet our approval, we guarantee they will meet yours. |
